Hi.

Welcome to threethings. I document my adventures in food, travel and life (threethings). Thanks for stopping by!

ob-sessed: october edition

Do you ever feel the days go by really quick but the months feel long? That is how this October felt for me, and I am not mad about it. October will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s when Doug and I met, when we got married, when the air turns a little crisper than you’d expect, when you get to mow down (in Canada) on a massive Turkey dinner, and when most people get very excited for Halloween (note: not my favourite holiday). This month was full of travel, celebrations and eating, duh. We certainly had a indulgent summer and early fall, so the beginning of this month, we cracked down and started hitting the gym again and it feels SO good!

Here are a few things I have been obsessing over this month:

  • Amsterdam. My trip guide is going live next week so keep an eye out for that.

  • Doug and I celebrated our first anniversary at Alo and it was such an experience. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but I highly recommend going for a special occasion as they do an incredible job of making you feel special.

  • I have always had a hard time with high waisted jeans with my short, curvy body, but these jeans are THE BEST, I want them forever. Looks like they’re now sold out, but all Madewell demin is great.

  • Bar Buca and their effortless, cool vibe.

  • While this is not a new obsession, I find Busy Phillips wildly entertaining (check out her InstaStories if you haven’t already) but also really inspiring. Her appearance on Second Life was fascinating and I can’t wait to read her book that just came out.

  • Canned tuna with Annie’s White Cheddar Mac and cheese and freshly ground pepper, I’m all about the elevated childhood meals.

  • Fall walks, which are even better by the beach

  • A Star is Born. I don’t think I have cried that much during a movie since The Notebook. The soundtrack has been on repeat in our house.

  • I have been using True Botanicals’ Radiance Oil everyday for the past 3 months and have seen a notable difference in the clarity of my skin. I also love that all their products are MADESAFE™ Certified.

  • Classical music has been getting me through days at work I need to power through loads of tasks, this Spotify playlist has a stellar line-up.

How was your month? Tell me, I really want to hear about it!
