Hi.

Welcome to threethings. I document my adventures in food, travel and life (threethings). Thanks for stopping by!

ob-sessed: september edition

‘ob-sessed’ is a monthly series where I share some of my favourite products, podcasts, articles, recipes, ideas or anything groundbreaking I come across.

Despite the fact I have been out of school for some time now, (barring my Masters in 2015), September brings back heavy waves of back to school vibes. Who else obsessed about the new shoes they would buy late August and keep them in the box until the first day of school? I am thinking of a stellar pair of brown and pink Etnies I got in Grade 10, real cute. But even many years later, September offers this time of new beginnings, of a fresh start, new shoes. As bummed out as I can get that summer has come to an end, I look forward to the fall (as you already know I am obsessed with the season) and start planning for the last quarter of the year.

This year has been no different. It’s been jammed packed with new projects (hello three things), the changing of seasons, inexplicable energy and some amazing food. I’ve entered into hyper planning mode for the holidays, some trips we have coming up and of course so much exciting content for you guys!

Here are a few things that I have had on repeat that got me through the hectic month:

  • The soothing voice of Michael Barbaro on The Daily, this episode, and Part 2 were so moving it made me cry

  • Glam-glow Supermud mask

  • Lake Inez and their jaw-dropping wine selection and to die for fish curry

  • I don’t have kids, but I hope one day if I have daughters I hope I remember this piece by Jenny Rosenstarch, via CupofJo

  • My parents, and their stunning commitment to building a beautiful community around Phidon Pens

  • This tomato burst pasta recipe, I am actually double ob-sessed with everything Bon Appetit is doing lately

  • I was late to the game, but Little Fires Everywhere was an achingly good read

  • The Greatest Showman Soundtrack

  • Sunflowers and babysbreath

  • The cozy Gym Fleece Crewneck Sweatshirt from Frank and Oak, the colour I have is no longer available online, but I would also love it in navy

Tell me about your month? Do you also feel that September energy? Or are you totally bummed about the end of summer situation?
